1. Strategy: Wise Choice Process

Application: Cosmetology

Educator: Tambra Luppino, Department Chair, Spa Therapies and Operations, Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, NC

Implementation: The purpose of this activity is to help students learn how to assess a client’s current situation and identify desired outcomes.  Use the Wise Choice Process to determine 1. What is the client’s current situation? (e.g., current hair color) 2. What is the client’s desired outcome? (e.g., What is their desired hair color) 3. What possible choices are available? 4. What are the likely outcomes of each of these choices? (e.g., hair condition, cost, time factors) 5. What choice will the client select? 6. The student will evaluate the plan and determine if it was a wise choice.
